Missing Hyderabad

Hyderabad!! I am missing you a lot here in Pune. I am missing the Lumbini Park , the NTR Gardens, the Necklace Road, Indira Park, and other small small parks, Jalaram Bapa Mandir, Paradise (heart of the city), Haridwar Restaurant (our mostly fixed food joint for weekends), General bazar, all those occasional " Melas", Kavadiguda (my locality), and all my and U's friends who were close to our hearts.
Pune....none literally none of the above mentioned things or like things are there except friends.
But Of course one thing i am NOT AT ALL missing is "Monkeys". In fact i am so glad that we are living in the place where monkeys are not even in sight let alone their fear. My son here, has grown playing in the garden within our society in 1 year, like he has not grown for 3 years in Hyderabad because we were not allowed to go out even for wandering around in the society (by monkeys). so no question of kids playing. Of course those extra brave boys would play there games along with one default game of hide and seek with monkeys. But yes this was the only fall of Hyderabad for me, but actually the area.
I hope someday I will come to my Hyderabad for visit and refresh my sweet memories. Although I can't come back and get settled there again since we have already bought a flat in Pune and my in laws would never get ready to settle down in Hyd anyways.
Well!! we stay where our Bread and Butter is fixed by God. No option. No choice.

Happy New Year

Hello Friends,

Sorry for updating my blog after a looooong span.
Accept my New Year Wishes and Cheers :)

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ganesha in Hyderabad

Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the lord of Wisdom and Success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. The 10 days of Ganesha festival are the best days in Hyderabad.Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Ganesha. The day from Ganesh Chaturthi till Ganesh Visarjan, the enthusiasm in the city is remarkable. Enchanted with the splendour of the city we used to roam around in narrow lanes for Ganesha Darshan. In a single lane, you can easily find 4 Ganesha Idols hardly fitting in. This is what we call "Great Devotion". Never seen this mood in my home town, Indore for continuous 10 days.As we were wandering we came across several types of Ganesha Idols, we took snaps of the idols with the most unique features:

Mission Helicopter

Time: 5:30 PM

Order: To find the helicopter as soon as possible.

Threat: The whole house can become a total mess, if not found.

I just finished teaching him. He than started playing with his toys and within 10 mins, he suddenly changed his mind and asked me casually, "Mamma where is that Helicopter?" I asked "Which one baby?” He said,” That one...". Obviously unable to explain.

I decided to find it first and than show him. So like any Obedient Mom, I started exploring Whole House, literally Whole House because he has his closet for toys in his room, but other rooms are also not unaware of his toys. I got one. Victorious smile on my face. I showed him and asked,” This one?” Very easily he said, "NO" (like a gal rejects the marriage proposal of a guy who hardly dared to propose). My smile faded. I got another one, expecting this will be the last ball of the match, I showed him. Rejected again ridiculously. His anger is aroused and my panic. Never knew he has so many of helicopters...and than he takes all his toys so seriously, cursing the day when we bought (so many of) them for him. I finally gave up.

Requested him to search in his closet himself (kids now a days needs request only, I plead him to say me sorry, when he does some mistake).Thank God, he agreed, than this was the result:

Still there was not the one he was hunting for in them too. But good Lord he actually forgot and started playing with them and arranging them.

So, Mission Unsuccessful??

Nopes.

The night when I was preparing the bedding, I got the helicopter under his pillow (that he might have hidden in the afternoon while I was making him asleep).I rushed to him and showed him that one, and he screamed "Mil Gaya"

Mission Successful.

Thinking....

Kiddies Krishnashtami

Krishnashtami is a well known festival of Hindus. We all celebrate it with religious fervour. In our family also we celebrate it with great pomp. Actually, India is a land of festivals. Every day we observe a new festival, particularly this time between July to Oct/Nov most of the festivals fall. My sister in Chicago miss them a lot and that is the main reason why i don't want to settle down in abroad. we miss that religious zeal and enthusiasm there. Not that they are not festive or religious, but they have different festivals which are celebrated differently. Even while being in Hyderabad i miss some festivals that we used to celebrate in North in a more grand style.

Well, coming back to Krishnashtami... Yesterday we observed fast whole day and chanted some Krishna bhajans in evening (with Krishna and Radha) and finally went for Krishna Darshan in Temple.Yes!! you thought it right. How come with Krishna and Radha? That's my son and his friend. For a couple of years, one more job has been added to me, for that day
along with other things to do, is to makeover my son as Krishna and make sure that his friend gets dressed like Radha. He is so fond of Lord Krishna. He watches Krishna serial, Cartoon series with great interest and is fascinated by those big monsters (Rakshasaz) and how Krishna defeat them so easily. Here's a snap of him and his friend in the avatar.......
